QUICK POST

I've  been creating this week. I'm sick of being behind the eight ball.  So, I am now instead getting ahead of the game.  I am making tags, postcards, canvas collage, art journal pages, and what else moves me.  I decided the other day, when I got soooo much positive feed back from all of you, to take my time blogging, not get stressed over it, and take a week or two, and create!!  Then, I will be making things when I want to for parties and challenges.  I won't be worried about getting my blog posts up, and finding time to create!  I will be able to  post things I'm making at that moment, and show some some things I just made!!  And, I will have more time to visit all of you!!  I will still be here blogging of course!!  And, I hope you will like what you see!!!!

I have 10 things going at once right now.  And I love it like that, tons of projects being made at the same time.  And of all of them, I finished this one tag for PINK SATURDAY!!!  Please follow this link to see Beverly's awesome blog, and get inspiration from all of the fabulous party people.

As today is the huge Royal Wedding day, I thought this Marie Antoinette tag was perfect!!

The gorgeous image if from a very generous collage sheet from THE GRAPHICS FAIRY!!  She is awesome like that.  I will also add this to her "Brag Monday" party!!

Enjoy the weather, and be creative!!!  Thanks again to all of you kind people!!  You are ALL wonderful

FRIENDS...

I have met so many wonderful people through this blog,  People who are so kind, and so sweet, even though they really don't have to.  You don't "know" me in real life.  You will probably never meet me.  But you are such nice people!!  This is the way blogging should be.  I have met some not so nice people too, but far more nice people.

Yesterday, one of those nice  people gave me an award!  Cindy from Whimsical Musings gave me this.

This is so awesome!  Am I a beautiful blogger?  Is my blog beautiful?  Either way, it was a nice pick me up!  I've been in a ????? place with blogging lately.  Overwhelmed I guess.  I feel like I'm not creating as much as I want to, and that I'm not blogging as much as I should.  I know that I'm doing my best, but I always have doubts.  This tells me I'm doing fine!!

I share this with all of you friends!!  I learn so much from each and every one of you!!  Thank you Cindy, and thank you all!!

A DOODLE AND A TANGLE

Happy Tuesday!  Hope your week has been off to a good start!  Today, I want to show you a page from my sketch book.  I've really enjoyed this book recently.  I always start a little something in it, but never finish anything.  Lately, I've been making a lot of different things in it for Mr. Toast's Creative Tuesdays.  I've used pencils, watercolors, markers, pens, words, collage, all in my sketch book.  Today, I've made an actual "sketch"?  It is 2 doodles, but it is all done in pen, no different mediums, just white paper, and black pen.

The prompt was "Short and Tall".  So, the only "sketching" type thing I can even attempt to so is "doodling", I went with it.

I made a big bird outline, and a small bird outline.  I gave the big bird LONG legs, made him "tall", and the small bird little short legs,  "short".  The large bird I doodled.  Not tangled.  Just areas of doodles going down the bird.

The small bird is "tangled".  I made the grid of tangled lines first, and doodled inside next.

I am really happy with my sketchy birds!!  Hope you enjoy them too.  And go visit Mr. Toast's blog. the inspiration there is plentiful!!

A FEW FUN THINGS

Hello Friends!!  Thanks for visiting today!!  I'm linking to Debbie Doo's Newbie Party!!  If you want to meet some inspiring blogers, click the link and join the party!!

A week ago, I made a pink bottle, using vintage things, and an image from the Graphics Fairy (click on button on right sidebar).  I entered it in ArtCHIX studio's Easter Challenge.  I didn't EXACTLY win, but I, along with 5 others, got a free digital collage sheet!!  I haven't  picked mine out yet.  But I can't wait to browse their store!!  I've already bought things from them, and everything is fabulous!

Then, this very morning, I get an email from my new awesome friend Cindy Adkins.  She is amazing.  Her art is gorgeous, and she has a magazine too!!  She has been so helpful to me too.  I can be a BIT hyper? at times?  fairly intense and cold and unfriendly so i've been told.  And yet so many of you have been so nice to me!!  And I love you all for that.  For seeing that I'm not completely mental.  Or, not being mad at me for being mental!  Anyway,  she had a party last week, and I won there too!!  My very own piece of her gorgeous art!  Click on the link above to see her beautiful work, and her fun blog!!

And, in closing (*snort* like i'm giving a speech!!) I think you are all fabulous, and I hope you keep hanging out with me!!  YOU are awesome!!

ART JOURNAL WEDNESDAY!!!

Welcome everyone!!  Thanks for visiting my art journal Wednesday!!  Today, I have another color page.  I got the idea from Julie of Balzer Designs Blog.  She does "Art Journal Every Day" too.  Check her out.  One of her posts was about her color journals.  This had me thinking about how cool this would be!!!  I've done the inside and cover page, pink and blue.  Now, I did yellow!!  I think the color yellow is nice, but not usually my first color choice.  And yet, this was my favorite color page so far!!  All I could think of is the song "Yellow" by Coldplay.  So, I wrote on the left page "it was all Yellow".  I used yellow paint, and yellow marker, yellow patterned packing tape, brown gaffers tape with yellow diamonds, and of course, my paint samples.  But this time, I punched flowers and used them.  I used the yellow marker to write the names of the color next to the flowers!!!
Now, someone in blog land, said  once, that they always make an ATC while making a project.  They use the left over paint, or any supplies, and get a little extra piece of art!!  SO WHOEVER YOU ARE, PLEASE TELL ME, SO I CAN GIVE YOU CREDIT!!

Here is my ATC.

The paper says "Reliable Sunflower Correspon."  I figured it was correspondence.  How fitting with the flowers!!  So I used the negative from the punch and added it here.

I hope everyone is having a great week!!  And I'm sorry if I don't get to everyone this week.  With the boys home for spring break, it is not as easy to get the quiet time to visit and read all of you!!  I promise to keep moving along this week!  See you all soon!!

PINK SATURDAY!!

Welcome!!  Thank you for stopping by today!  It is Beverly of "How Sweet the Sound's" Pink Saturday party!!  And I have just the "Pink" to show you today!!

I have missed like 2 Pink Saturday's lately, because of getting settled, and because it has taken me WEEKS to finish this little project.  I have had a pink glass milk bottle for YEARS.  I've had it here and there and never could find a home or a purpose for it.  SO, a few weeks back, I decided to decorate it for Easter.  Then, at least one a year, it can have a special place in my home.

After all of that, here it is!
What do you think?  I used my clear pink glass bottle, and added one of my million antique doilies my grandma made.  Then, used some Prima Flowers, bling, random pink ribbons, and Tim Holtz white flower ribbon on the bottom.  The Easter image is from The Graphics Fairy, of course!!  I will link this to her Brag Monday Party too!

Just wanted to show off my hand made wire ribbon flowers!!

The key is hanging from the ribbon.  It is by Tim Holtz.  I do have some vintage keys too, but I liked the word "heart" on this one.

And, of course, here is Hello Kitty!!  She is always pink!!  I have decided to add her to all of the Pink Saturday posts!!  Some weeks, she may be the only picture.  I have YEARS worth of Hello Kitty stuff to show off.  It's an obsession.  She is my BFF after all!!

Now go enjoy all of the other pinks!!  And don't forget my giveaway HERE

ART JOURNAL WEDNESDAY!!!

DON'T FORGET ABOUT MY GIVEAWAY HERE!!!

Today's art journal page is brought to you by A Year in the Life of an Art Journal.  The prompts are given in 3 parts, as usual, and this prompt was:
Prompt: Love
Song:  Not Broken by the Goo Goo Dolls
Technique to try:  Silhouettes

So, I usually try to get all 3 things into my page.  Because it is more challenging that way.  But this page seemed to have a mind of it's own. I got my supplies together, paint, tissue paper, silhouette, gel medium, markers, tape.  And began my process.  I painted the page red, used gel medium in my paint to help my tissue paper to adhere, added my silhouette to the left side.  I used water color crayons all along the page, and smeared them with water.  I was going write the words from the song on top of this, but other words came out of my pen.  All things about love.  And once they started, they wouldn't be stopped!  So, I added more crayon, to not make the words as noticeable.  And wrote the fancy "LOVE" on top.  I really liked making this page, and I really like the way it came out too!!

I hope you like it too!!
Until next time....

CREATIVE TUESDAY!

Today is Creative Tuesday day!!  Creative Tuesday is a blog that gives a prompt every other Tuesday, and we have to make something from it.  The talent over there is amazing.  I collage, art journal, even doodle, but the people there actually draw, and it is amazing to see.

This prompt was "Rooftop".  How the heck am I going to do that????  So I thought on it for 12 of the 14 days, and finally came up with this.
I came up with the idea "look up" out of no where, and decided to take pictures of the rooftops in my neighborhood.  I went up stairs, and took pics from that window.  Then, I found this wonderful picture of a mermaid looking up.  This plan is coming together!!  I started by using my watercolor crayons, and blending them.  Then, I used blue ad white spray inks.  When everything was dry, I doodled all around the page.  I glued on my rooftop pics, and put a doily behind my mermaid.  I even used some birds to cut out an put on the rooftops, and  I used some wings on the mermaid  too.  The last thing I did was cut the letters for look up and Fly, out of a magazine.  Of course, the "FLY" looks like "FNY", but that's how it goes sometimes, right?????

SO, I am off to Creative Tuesday now, to look at everyone's beautiful work!!  I hope you come to see it too!

It is a mixed media piece, made on a 16x24 inch canvas.  There is so much involved in it.  I had to write an article about how I made it.  When I heard that I was like ???????  It took me hours  to write!  But, I did it, and it came out really good.  There are some close up pics I sent too.  Here they are.

ugh.  this one is sideways.

So, there it is!!  My big news!!  This is my second time in Altered Arts Magazine, maybe I should try for a third?

ARTCHIX AND NEWBIES RULE!!!

Welcome all!!  Thank you for visiting me today.  I am taking part in Debbie Doo's newbie party, as usual, and she is so AWESOME!!  Hosting this party, every single week, for all of us who are new to bloging.  Helping us make friends, and see how others blog.  It has been so wonderful for me.  You rock Debbie!

OK! So, I am going to show you an art piece I made for a challenge at My Artisticlife.  This is the challenge blog for ARTchix Studio.  ARTchix Studio is a really AWESOME place for all of your mixed media needs.  They have fabulous collage sheets, shrines, windows, ATC items, jewelry making stuff, everything!!  And, I bought some awesome stuff there last year, and didn't realize they had a blog.  duh.  This bi-weekly challenge blog is where my art piece comes in.  The theme, is flowers.  Use that in any way you wish.  Here is what I did.
I used a 4x4 inch canvas, and put book paper down first.  Then, I wrote on it with 2 different markers spring words.  I then gave it a thin coating of white paint.  Then came my favorite part, new spray inks from Ranger!  I just got them a week ago.  Red and purple spray inks.  Glimmer spray inks!  So, I repurposed some old chipboard by giving it the same treatment as the canvas. I put a face from an ARTchix collage sheet I had on the flower.  I finished it off with inspiring words on it's petals.  I applied the flower and bird  with foam dots.  I stamped the word "bloom", and cut it out and put it on the bottom of the canvas.  I went over the flower that was on the bookpaper with a micron black marker, and outlined and made dots on the piece with a white sharpie!  Spring fun, spring art, spring time.  They all make me smile, especially after this long winter.

Go have fun checking out the other blogs, and come back soon!  As usual, if you follow me, I promise to follow you back!
