WOYWW

Hello desk hoppers!!  It is that time again, time to show off our desks to the world!  Start with Julia's blog and get all the details.

I don't mind a messy desk, I call it "Creative Chaos"!  I was working on some other stuff and then I remembered I didn't do my art journal page!  So I had to get on it.  It is a page about family and I used glitter markers to write on this page so the letters are not easy to read.  It says "Family is like fudge, mostly sweet with a few nuts".  That should make you understand my desk better!! LOL!

If you want to know about the art journal group, click HERE.  It is a Facebook group taught by Terri Sproul.

Enjoy the party!!

CLAUDINE HELLMUTH'S TECHNIQUE TOOLBOX CLASS

I have been so busy lately because I am taking a class taught by the awesome Claudine Hellmuth!!!  It is called Technique Toolbox and is a 5 week online course.  We learn a mixed media technique every day for 5 weeks, and Claudine is there to help us and answer questions.  It is so fun, and I love learning how to do some things I never thought of trying!  I am enjoying every day of this class.  Here are just 4 of the techniques I learned so far.

Photo Transfer

 Inking over embossed Canvas

 Photo Tinting

 Collage with no bubbles

As I make more project pieces I will show them here. Thanks for visiting and have an AWESOME day!!

ALTERED ARTS MAGAZINE SUMMER ISSUE IS OUT NOW!!

And guess who's work is on the cover???

MINE!!
I made this mail art envelope and tied together some of my great grandmother's old post cards with my grandmother's lace.  I also made "Postcards" for this issue.  They are just the pieces of paper I leave out to clean off a paint brush, or get ink/paint off of a stamp.  But they are so nice, I like to send them to people!
These are the Postcards I made.  Now, I can send them out!!  They are just so fun!  You don't realize how awesome wiping off a brush will look!

There are so many awesome articles inside!!  You should really check this issue out!!  You can just visit Altered Arts Magazine to see how to get yours!  And thank you so much for visiting!!  I will be back to tell you all about the Claudine Hellmuth Class I am taking now!

WOYWW!!

Yes friends!  It is that time again! Time to show us what your work desk REALLY looks like.  Please start at Julia's blog and leave her a comment!!

I've had a large lapse in Art Journaling.  And I hate that I haven't had more time.  So recently, I met Terri Sproul who is an awesome artist and has a group on Facebook called "All Things Terri Sproul" and people who watch her weekly YouTube live show can post their art there.  She shows us how she art journals and inspires us to do the same.  Very good stuff!!  If you can't make the live show, you can watch it anytime on YouTube.  So I've been hanging out there and several people asked about my art journals.  I have them on my desk today.  Some are finished, some have pages left waiting to be filled.  I have more than this, but they are still in 30 gallon totes from when we moved here 2 1/2 years ago!  They are in the room that is the last to renovate waiting for a closet that may eventually show up.  So this is what I have now.

I have 11 journals here.  6 are completely filled.  This is a side view.

This is a view from the top.  On top, I have a sketch book and a zen doodle book on the left and my gratitude journal that should have been done months ago.

I love looking at the side view and seeing all the completed pages!

I made my first page in months after Terri gave us a prompt and technique to try.  This is what I made.

I LOVE this page!!  The writing on top says "Art is not a thing, it is a way!"  Isn't that the truth? I used my Splash Inks that I got from Altered Pages, and some distress ink and markers.  I hope you enjoy it and maybe get your journal out and jump in again!!

Enjoy the party!!

JULY CHALLENGE AT ALTERED PAGES CHALLENGE BLOG!

This month's challenge is up on the challenge blog!  The theme is Dreamy Nights.  Click the link to join us!!  There will be a prize!!

Here is what I made for the challenge.
I started with my Gelli Plate (the best tool in the universe!!) to get the black paint on a cardstock tag.  I glued some gauze to the tag so it would look like a cloud. Then, I used the collage sheet Once in a Blue Moon to put the full moon on top.  To get the glitter and silver on the tag I used a Wink of Stella pen.  This is AMAZING!!!  I got that wonderful silver AND that lovely glitter on the bottom from the same pen!!  Not 2 different sides, one pen, one brush side, all in one!!  Here is what Jean Moore, the Altered Pages.com owner, had to say about it:
"They REALLY WORK! Perfect for writing AND adding controlled glitter to your projects. The Nylon brush tip produces thick and thin lines allowing artistic freedom. Archival Quality"
The store has 4 colors to choose from, Gold, Silver, Orange and Purple.  They are AWESOME!!
Finally. I added the stamped sentiment about dreams.
I hope you will join us this month!!  And don't forget to check the store for all of your artsy needs!!

WOYWW

It is another WOYWW!  If you don't know what I'm talking about, visit Julia's blog.  She has all the answers!!

This is my work desk AND a project I finished.
My badge is in the middle of my desk, on top of my Tim Holtz Gears masks.  I have inks, embossing powder, Copic markers and adhesive.  Other random stuff can be seen all around.  I made a project I will show you now, but I am still making one that I can't show you yet.  I will show it off to all of you as soon as I can.

This is what I can show you.  This tag is made for Altered Arts Magazine using some sponsor products. The man with the gears is from Stampendous.  It is called "Gear Head" and the other stamps are from 7Gypsies, the set is called "Numero".  You can see where I used my masks, and where I used the embossing powders.  I think this tag is super fun.  I love Steampunk!

As always, thank you so much for visiting me and leaving me such wonderful comments!!  You are all awesome!!   Enjoy the party!!
